Hey friends! Adrianne Surian here with you today to share an ultra-fast, ultra easy DIY jewelry project: these color-blocked DIY beaded bracelets. They make up in under five minutes, and the bright colors are great for summer and back to school wardrobes. Even better, you only need a few supplies to make these sweet bangles, making them an excellent beginner project!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY beaded bracelets:
- Assorted Acrylic Faceted Beads, 1mm hole or larger (shown here are blue, aqua, and mint colors, in 10mm and 12mm sizes)
- Add-a-Bead Magnetic Bracelet(s)
- Jewelry Glue (optional)
When selecting your supplies, you’ll need about one pack of beads for each bracelet. If you plan to mix sizes and colors, pick up 3 packs of beads for each 2 bracelets. You’ll have some leftover for other projects (ahem – matching earrings, anyone?) It’s also important to note that within these particular bead assortments, the holes in the 8mm beads are not quite large enough to slip over the end of the bead wire. You’ll be using just the 10mm and 12mm beads.
The bracelets are SO easy to use – simply unscrew the ball end from the wire.
From there, add beads on in a color blocked pattern. (Using the 10mm beads requires 20 beads in total, and 17 beads in total using the 12mm size – so divide this number up by the number of colors you are using.) There will be a few mm gap at the end of the wire, and that’s a good thing! When the bracelet curves, you’ll need a little extra room for it to flex well.
When you’re finished adding beads, just replace the screw-on magnetic clasp! For extra security, you can add an optional dot of jewelry glue to the inside of the hole in the clasp before screwing it back on. This will ensure that your bracelet will never come unscrewed over time. If you prefer the option of changing the beads to match your mood, then gluing it permanently closed isn’t necessary to enjoy wearing it a few times! You can check that the cap is still secure at any time, and it takes a lot of twisting to come undone.
These DIY beaded bracelets only take a few minutes to make, and supplies are around $3 per bracelet. This is a great project for crafters of all levels with its instant-gratification design. It’s ideal for a craft night or quick DIY!Thanks for joining me for today’s easy DIY jewelry project, and I’ll see you guys again soon!
