I have been in love with gold metallic and yarn crafts lately. So why not combine the two, right? Yes they make gold metallic yarn! I am excited to share this yarn DIY tassel garland with y’all today. Of course if you don’t love the gold metallic, by all means make this with the yarn of your choice to match your home decor.
Supplies needed to make your own yarn DIY tassel garland:
- Yarn (I used Gold Metallic Patons Yarn)
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Scrap Piece of Foam Board
- Tape
- Scissors
You can watch me make a yarn tassel in the short video below. It really explains the tassel portion better than I ever could with words and pictures! So watch this first….
Then make however many tassels you need for your DIY tassel garland. To tie them all on, I just took a long piece of the same yarn and tied the loose ends of each tassel around the yarn as shown below.
I took those loose ends and wrapped them around the back and secured with a bit of hot glue. This keeps everything nice and neat from the front. You can also secure the area where the top knot meets the long piece with a touch of hot glue if you wish. This will keep everything from moving later.
Then just string up your yarn DIY tassel garland around you home. I strung mine across an old picture frame for now. I will probably be using it in a variety of ways in the future.
Adding the touch of yarn to your home decor without the need to knit or crochet! Now that is what I call a great yarn craft.
Will you be trying your hand at making yarn tassels or a DIY tassel garland?
