Note: You are not limited to the colors I chose for this spring wreath DIY project, there are so many fun colors and patterns to you could use to coordinate it perfectly with your home and style!
Now that the wreath base is covered, it’s time to work on all of the embellishments. For the eggs, I poked a toothpick into the bottom of the egg and held on to the toothpick while painting them. This made it super easy to turn the eggs without touching the paint. Then, I just poked them right into an egg carton to dry.
To give the eggs more definition and make them look a bit more like a real birds egg…Take a stencil brush and pounce a little bit of brown paint in a few spots on the egg. Then, soften the look by pouncing a little bit of a lighter shade of the first color.
Remember those eggs we painted a few minutes ago? They need a spot to rest, so use the hot glue gun to attach a small nest to your wreath. The eggs can be poked into place using the toothpicks or hot glued. I chose to hot glue mine because it is super windy at our house. We don’t want these eggs falling out of their nest!
Now you have a festive spring wreath to enjoy all season long! There are so many possibilities for creating a beautiful door decoration and I hope this spring wreath DIY tutorial sparked some ideas to make one for your own home. If bright colors are more your style, consider styling your wreath like the one in this spring burlap wreath tutorial.
