I am still into the whole rustic/farmhouse decor style. I wanted to make a very simple embroidery hoop wreath to add to my kitchen that would add a pop of green, and something other than a rectangular frame or canvas. This wooden embroidery hoop with a felt vine fit the bill for me.
Supplies needed to make an embroidery hoop wreath:
- Wood Embroidery Hoop
- Decorative Linen Burlap Ribbon
- Dimensions Wool Felt
- Cream Wool Beads
- Cloth-Covered Floral Stem Wire
- Cricut Iron On Vinyl Transfer Roll
- Threaders Leaf Fabric Dies
Add your word, or phrase to the center of your ribbon. I chose to cut “Welcome” from heat transfer vinyl. You could also use letter stickers, or thin wooden cut out words.
Slide the hoop apart and center your word in the smaller (inside) hoop.
Die cut or hand cut with scissors several leaf shapes from green felt. Set aside.
Begin by adhering a leaf on the wire end. Add hot glue in a strip in the middle of the leaf and pinch the sides of the leaf together over the wire.
Continue up the wire vine with leaves.
Now that you know how simple this hoop wreath is to make – I “hoop” you try it, bad pun aside.
