How to Make a Window Frame Bulletin Board

Father's Day· Home Decor· Mother's Day· Organization· Wood

I was looking for an attractive way to create a real pin board in my craft room.  Pottery Barn had a beautiful chalkboard that I liked, so I borrowed their design as inspiration for my bulletin board.  It’s a fun way to personalize your wall decor to fit your theme!  Here’s how you can make your own window frame bulletin board:

Supplies needed to make your own window frame bulletin board:

  • Canvas
  • Cork Roll
  • Staple Gun
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Spray Paint
  • Wood Trim
  • Sand Paper

1.  Arrange the canvas’ to the size you want your pin board to be.  Use the wood pieces that come with it to staple the canvas together.

2.  Place the cork over the canvas and staple in place.  Cut off the excess.

3.  Paint the cork board.

4.  Cut wood to make the window “frame.”  Paint and then nail in place.

5.  I used a decorative wood trim on the edge of my frame.  First I spray painted it, then I painted over it with acrylic paint.  When it had dried I sanded it lightly to expose the lighter aqua color underneath and reveal the pattern on the wood.

Now I have a beautiful window frame bulletin board to decorate my craft space with.  I’ve filled it up with old family pictures that I love, but soon it will be full of inspiration in the form of images clipped from magazines.  What would you pin on your bulletin board?
