“Shine On” DIY Wall Decor

Craft Basics· Home Decor

As I’ve mentioned before, I love when my decor can be both beautiful and functional!  This DIY wall decor piece doubles as wall art and as a hook for keys, hats, or anything else!  The best part about making your own piece is that you can change the colors and quote to match your style.  Read on to learn how easy it is to make your own decorative wall art with a hook.

DIY-wall-decor-Crafts-UnleashedSupplies needed to make your own DIY wall decor:supply2

  • Unfinished Wood Painting Panel (I used 8×8)
  • 3-D Star Hanger
  • Assorted Rusted Tin Stars
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Mod Podge
  • Letter Stickers
  • Craft Paint
  • E-6000 Adhesive

Step one:  Paint the edges of the wood panel with craft paint.

Step three:  Spell out a saying using chipboard letter stickers, and adhere to the panel.

Step four:  Glue the assorted tin stars on using E-6000.

Shine on Wall Hook

You can hang your DIY wall decor piece as is, or add a saw tooth hanger for added stability.

DIY-wall-decor-Crafts-Unleashed-1I’m hoping this quote will not only encourage my son to do his best, but also to quit leaving his hats on the floor!  A girl can dream, can’t she?  Have fun crafting and creating!
