While we are still enjoying the last few weeks of summer break, fall is nearly upon us. Once August hits, I find myself craving all things fall from the deep rich color tones to the smell of cinnamon and pumpkin spices. While I don’t plan to turn the house into a fall festival quite yet, I am enjoying adding in a few touches of fall to our normally neutral home decor palette. Today, I’m sharing how to use a few fun accessories to create this lovely rustic fall wreath DIY.
- Foam Wreath Form.
- Hot Glue Gun.
- Ivory Burlap Ribbon.
- Fall Inspired Yarn.
- Burlap Flowers .
- Pheasant Feathers.
- Pineapple Doily.
Step one. You’ll start by wrapping the ivory burlap around your wreath form. Use a dab of hot glue to secure the starting end and overlap the edges as you go, pulling it taut for a more seamless effect. When you finish covering the wreath, trim your burlap and use a dab of hot glue to secure the end.
I loved the texture and colors of this yarn and tried to keep it straight as I wrapped it around the wreath. You don’t need to overlap unless you want to. I chose to cover just under half of the burlap with the yarn then trimmed and secured it with hot glue to finish off.
Step three. Now it is time to add the embellishments. I always love adding in natural elements like these twigs. You can even gather these from your own yard! I placed some facing upward and out, and overlapped some going in the opposite direction (downward and out). Secure with a drop of hot glue to keep them in place.
