Today’s post is such a simple project, I am almost embarrassed to even call it a “project”! Check out these adorable magnet chalkboard ideas!
When I saw these cute little mini chalkboards- I knew I wanted to make something with them and my chalkboard ideas came to life…
I created some mini message board magnets for my fridge!
I had fun personalizing a separate chalkboard for each of my kids. These are fun for reminders, or personal messages, and I can switch the photos out as often as I like!
If you have five minutes- you can make some yourself! These would be a great gift for grandparents- you can change the photos out each year, and maybe the kids can write little love notes.
Supplies needed to make your own mini chalkboard message boards:
- 4×3″ Wood Framed Chalkboards
- Heavy Duty Magnets (Make sure you get the heavy duty magnets, they are more expensive, but are the only ones that will hold larger projects.)
- Mini Clothes Pins
- Round Aluminum Tin (for holding chalk, optional)
- Hot Glue Gun & Gluesticks
- Pliers
- Chalk
- Wallet Sized Photos
- Various Embellishments (ie, seashells, ribbon, buttons, etc)
The first thing you will want to do is remove the hanging string that comes on the chalkboards. We will not be needing them. They come out easily using pliers.
When the strings are removed, the hard part of this project is finished! 🙂
Next, glue the clothes pins to the frame in the top left hand corner. I used a hot glue gun.
Then hot glue one heavy duty magnet to the back (center) of the chalkboard.
So yeah, that is pretty much it. Just clip your desired photo to the frame with the attached clothespin.
You can embellish the frame if you would like.
I did a countdown to Christmas frame, and used some snowflake buttons I had on hand.
I also did a countdown to vacation frame, and added small shells.
A simple ribbon attached to the top of the clothes pin is a nice, easy way to dress the frame up, too.
I thought it would be nice to make a place to keep chalk handy.
I used an aluminum tin to hold my chalk.
Just add a heavy duty magnet to the back of the tin.
And hang it by your finished frames.
I told you these were embarrassingly easy! A great gift idea that you can personalize for any occasion- and a darn cute way to decorate your fridge!
I hope you are inspired to make some for yourself.
