It’s that time of year, my son is starting school again, and my schedule is getting a little crazy. I am always writing notes to myself and I needed a place to put them. I decided to make this fun little message center with a touch of gold! It matches my work area perfectly and gives me a place to keep all those notes secured.
Supplies needed to make your own gold leaf message center:
- Chicken Wire Frame
- Americana Decor Chalk Paint in Everlasting
- Gold Leaf
- Gold Leaf Adhesive
- FrogTape Painter’s Tape
- Chalkboard Tag Clothespins
- Chalkboard Pen
- Journal Cards
Using painter’s tape, I taped off about two inches on every corner. The tape just acted as a guide for my gold leaf adhesive. Once I had a nice coating of adhesive on my frame I laid a sheet of gold foil on top and pressed gently.
Using a small paintbrush, I brushed all the excess gold foil off my frame. It will only stick to the adhesive. If you find that spots are not covering properly, I simply add more adhesive and add more gold foil on top.
