When I saw this driftwood wreath I knew right away what I wanted to do with it – make a driftwood DIY mirror. I got one sent to me and I knew it was perfect. I have seen driftwood mirrors and they can get pretty pricey, so to be able to make one for less then $30.00- that’s a bargain.
Supplies needed to make your own driftwood DIY mirror:
When doing projects like these, Gorilla glue works best. I did a nautical rope mirror a couple months ago and the mirror was on pretty good! I knew it was my best option again.
Step 1 – Mark Your Spots.
I laid my mirror on the back of the wreath. The wreath is not completely flat on the back so I couldn’t just add glue everywhere. I had to mark the spots that were actually touching the mirror.
Step 2 – Add Your Glue.
I mixed up my glue and gently added it to the spots I marked. You do not want to add a lot, it will drip onto the mirror. Just enough to make sure the mirror holds. Then add some books on top and let dry overnight.
One of my favorite parts about this wreath is it already has a spot to hang it up. So no need to add a hook to the back!
This driftwood DIY mirror is not going anywhere! Believe me I tested it, I don’t want it falling off the back and breaking all over my floor.
I couldn’t be happier with how this driftwood DIY mirror turned out. I can’t wait to make several of these for the house, since they are so easy and inexpensive to make!
Especially this awesome driftwood mirror!
