Mobiles have traditionally only been used in kids rooms over a crib, but I am going change all that and share how to make a super simple DIY succulent mobile. These gorgeous mobiles will be a welcome addition to any room in your home. A few simple craft basics like macrame hoops, faux succulents, and hot glue are all you need to craft this unique piece.
Aren’t those faux succulents so realistic looking? And the delicate looking gold hoops are just perfect!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY succulent mobile:
- 6 Faux Succulents
- Gold Macrame Hoops (4″, 6″, 8″, and two 12″)
- Gold Jewelry Wire
- Pliers
- Hot Glue
- Strips of Scrap Fabric or Leather
Begin by creating your mobile shape. You will want to place the two 12″ macrame hoops perpendicular to each other and use the wire to secure wrap around the two hoops on the top and the bottom where the overlap.
Next add in the smaller hoops inside each other. Then use the wire to wrap around the hoops and secure them together at the top. Then use another piece of wire to wrap the inner hoops around the outer hoops to create your mobile shape.
Now you will hot glue the succulents to the mobile at the bottom of each hoop. Use a scrap piece of fabric on the bottom under the hoop to give the succulents a large section to glue them on to.
I also used a bit of wire and hot glue to attach a succulent upside down in the smallest hoop.
Once all your succulents are glued on your mobile is ready to hang using chain or rope and a hook screw.
I am obsessed with how this DIY succulent mobile looks! Those delicate gold hoops and colorful succulents are just perfect together. Even better is that the mobile rotates and twists and turns making a constantly changing art piece.
