Did you know that the pineapple is a traditional symbol for friendship and hospitality? Knowing that, it just made perfect sense to turn Consumer Craft’s super cute cement vase into a DIY pineapple cement planter hostess gift! You can fill it with any candy or even a small bottle of liquor that your hostess is sure to love. Plus when the treats are gone, she’ll be able to enjoy this fun planter in her home decor for years to come!
- Geometric Cement Vase
- Candy Treat Bags
- Yellow Sixlets
- Baker’s Twine
- Green Crepe Paper Sheets
- Sun Yellow Craft Paint
- Tan Craft Paint
Step 1. Paint the entire cement vase with a few coats of yellow paint. Be patient and allow the paint to dry completely between each coat.
Step 2. Trace vase contour lines with a thin paintbrush and the darker yellow paint. You may have to mix yellow and tan until you’re happy with the color.
Step 3. Add small triangle shapes to the center of the vase surfaces to create the final DIY pineapple look!
Step 4. Cut leaf shapes from the green crepe paper. I chose to just add the leaves to the top of the bag but the alternative option would be to wrap the entire treat bag in the green crepe paper and cinch shut to create the leaves.
Step 5. Fill treat bag with yellow candy (or any other treat you think the hostess would like!) and securely close with baker’s twine.
Step 6. Wrap leaves around the top of the bag and secure again with baker’s twine.
Your super cute DIY pineapple vase hostess gift is ready to go! Again, you can fill the vase with any sort of treat that you think she may like. As long as it fits, you could even insert a small bottle of liquor and attach the leaves to the top. There really are so many ways to customize this!
