It’s a new year and there’s no better time to bring those Pinterest organization ideas (like this one) to life! This magnetic DIY makeup organizer board is a perfect way to clear up some counter top space and organize your makeup in a way that’s convenient, fun and super cute!
- 16 x 24 inch Cork Memo Board
- Acrylic Paint (I used white)
- Rusted Metal Sheets
- E-6000 Industrial Strength Adhesive
- Patterned Scrapbook Paper
- Thumb Tacks
- 3 x 3 inch Paper Mache Pots
- Round Paper Mache Box
- Chipboard Letters
- Chunky Glitter (I used Gold)
- Tacky Glue
- Chalkboard Labels
- Magnet Strips
- Ceramic Magnets
- Sparkle Tape (I used Yellow, which is very gold-like)
Step 1: Choose a base for your DIY makeup organizer board. I used a cork board because it’s lightweight and easy to work with.
Step 3: After the paint has dried, glue the rusted tin sheets to the cork board using E-6000 glue. Since I knew I would be adding thumb tacks to the border, I did not cover the entire cork surface. 2 and a half sheets were perfect.
Step 7: Create the labels by placing the chalkboard stickers onto white paper and cut out a rectangle around the shape. (It’s easier to do with a ruler.)Step 8: Border the top rims of your paper mache containers with gold sparkle tape.
Step 9: Go magnet crazy! Add magnets to the back of your labels, letters, containers, and any other makeup you plan on sticking on the board. I cut pieces of strip magnet for the backs of the labels and letters. Note: you HAVE to use the super strong ceramic magnets for the heavier pieces, like the paper mache containers and makeup or they wont stay put!
