Looking for a fun and easy way to make your own home decor? You are in luck because today I am sharing how to make a simple rustic harvest sign. Creating your own signage has never been easier by using some simple craft tools and unfinished wood slat signs available at ConsumerCrafts.com.
- Wood Pallet Sign
- Chalky Finish Paint in Yesteryear
- Chalky Finish Paint in Everlasting
- Paint Brush
- Sponge Brush
- Silhouette Cameo
- Adhesive Vinyl
- Transfer Paper
- Sanding Block or Paper
- Hook Tool
- Cutting Mat
Step 3. Now you’ll create your stencil. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a stencil using adhesive vinyl. In the software I designed the word “HARVEST” using the font Birmingham. When you have the stencil cut, you’ll weed out the excess vinyl using the hook tool as shown below.
Step 4. You’ll apply the vinyl stencil to the wood sign using transfer tape. Peel off the transfer tape leaving the vinyl stencil in place. You’ll want to continue to press down the vinyl as it will lift.
That’s it! Now you have a super fun rustic harvest sign. If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can use hand tracing methods like this one shown here in this custom DIY tote bag tutorial.
