Can you think of anything more perfectly suited for a Spring Challenge than a floral wall sconce to hang your newly blossoming Spring flowers from? This beautifully simple floral wall sconce is easy to make with just a few supplies and is sure to brighten any room!
- Wood Pennant Flags
- White Craft Chicken Wire Netting
- Wired Sisal Vine
- E-6000 Glue
- Clothes Pins
- Preserved Moss Sheet
Step 1. Using the pennant flag as a template, cut a triangle shape from the chicken wire. You’re going to want the wire to be slightly wider than the flag to create the basket. I ended up cutting a few rows off from the top. Better to have too much than not enough!Step 2. Fold over any exposed chicken wire that will be at the top of your basket. Wouldn’t want to cut yourself as you add pretty flowers!
Step 3. Lay the wire triangle over the wood pennant flag and fold ends over to the back. Apply a liberal amount of glue and press second pennant flag to first, making sure to catch all the wire ends in between and to match up the holes at top.Step 4. Use clothes pins to keep the flags together as the glue dries.
Step 8. If you plan on using real flowers in your floral wall sconce basket, you can either use single stem water picks or a plastic sandwich bag cut to fit. If you’re using faux flowers, you’re good to go!
Having to stage photographs for this tutorial was the perfect excuse to buy these beautiful yellow Freesias! I wish you all could smell them, they made the whole house smell heavenly. What flowers would you use to fill your new floral wall sconce?
