Give your front door a welcoming refresh with this beautiful floral pallet DIY door decor hanger! Follow along as I show you how to make your own.
When I was adding new items to my “favorites” list at Consumer Crafts, this adorable pre-printed wreath pallet went into my cart as soon as I saw it.
I loved it! But, being the crafty person that I am, I couldn’t just leave it as it is. I added a few things, and my new DIY door decor was created.
And I love it. I mean, I loved it plain too- but how cute is this? It was a super quick project, and an easy one, since the pre-printed “wreath” gave me a fabulous guide for the paper flowers that I added to personalize it.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY door decor pallet:
- Unfinished Wood Pallet Sign with Wreath Design
- Corrugated Cardboard HELLO
- Flower, Leaf, Circle Shaped Craft Punches
- Smooth Cardstock (your choice of color combination)
- Shimmering Silver Metallic Enamel
- Silver Adhesive Pearls
- Glue Dots
Paint the corrugated “hello” word art with silver paint. You could choose another color- I loved the industrial feel the silver gave the corrugated surface. Allow it to dry.
Adhere the painted “hello” to the center of the pallet.
Using craft punches, a die cut machine or a template, create flower shapes from cardstock paper. Use a variety of sizes, colors and shapes for interest.
Begin adhering the flower shapes to the pre-printed wreath. I used glue dots for this step.
Begin with the largest sized flowers. Then medium sized.
Bend the petals upward to create dimension.
Follow around the pre-printed wreath for placement. Fill in smaller areas with your smallest size flower shape, and then add some green to some of the flowers.
I also bent my leaves for dimension. Adhere the leaves with glue dots, on one side of the bend.
To finish your flowered wreath, add some self-adhesive gems to the flower centers.
I chose silver colored gems, in graduated sizes.
Eyeball your finished pallet and see if there are any empty spots. Fill in with flowers or greenery!
Then “eyeball” a place to hang your darling DIY door decor! Mine went straight to the front door.
“Hello” new favorite door hanger!
I want to make another one and switch the colors up a bit to match my daughters room.
If I make one of these pallet wreaths for every room in my house, is that over-kill? Even if I switch up the colors?
I hope you are inspired to make one (or two) for your home too.
