I recently spent some time on the road for work, family and a mini vacation. Inspired by the creative happiness at the Craft and Hobby Association summer show in July, two weeks and 12 canvases later, we have some fun family art to add to our home decor. My kids painted the canvases using acrylic paints and then I followed with a black sharpie marker to add some doodle touches on each piece.
The kids used stickers and tape while layering paint to create some of the neat shape designs on each canvas. 8 of the canvases were used to create kind of a picture frame collection. The remaining 4 were used to make a fun handprint art piece. To create a united look among the pieces we limited each canvas to only 2 colors and limited the whole set to a select group of colors. This helps to coordinate each piece with the others.
