Who wants to take a peek into the room where my creative juices come to life? It’s not a big room per say, but it’s ‘purdy.’
Let’s take a craft room tour and look at my shabby chic inspired work room — where all of the crafty fairies come out to play {smile}.
My husband likes to remind me that my craft room was not designed for functionality, and… he’s right! Needless to say, the room might have a few revisions made to it this year. However, I love my work space. It’s light, bright, and I feel inspired there! That’s what’s most important, don’t you agree? Now, let’s get this craft room tour started!
First stop on the craft room tour, you will see my work desk as you walk in. If you look close enough, you’ll see that I have a folding table set up next to my desk. Ha Ha! Other than that, the first couple of things you’ll notice is the mini chandelier light fixture and the wall of white frames. I think these are two of the ‘features’ that are near and dear to me. Each of the frames were hand picked at antique stores/flea markets and painted by me…. including the fabulous mirror!
On the desk you’ll find lots of eclectic organization. I use jars, galvanized pails, cute mugs and soup cans! So many fun tools, pens, markers and scissors gives me lots of fun ways to display them.
Here’s a look behind the desk, pardon the messes you can see in the ‘see-through’ drawers. I’m sitting here asking myself, “what was I thinking?”
Notice the blue card table {face palm}. The one desk wasn’t cutting it, so this kinda came to fruition and, well, it works for the time being. I purchased a couple of plastic drawer carts to store some of my supplies (and current projects that are in the works). I have to confess that the room was tidied up significantly for this craft room tour post. With the holidays, I had to shovel a path or two on occasion to get around in here. No joke!
Albert Einstein said, “If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?” So, I think I’ll stick with the cluttered desk.
A craft room tour wouldn’t be complete without a few organizational tips: I love having different dishes, plates, cups, etc. to hold all of the little trinkets I tend to gather. My yarn needles are a staple and I love having them on this plate that was gifted to me. The S+K makes me smile and I feel like I’m ‘young and in love all over again.
Above you can see a couple of rolls of washi tape, one of my all-time favorite crafting supplies. That and BUTTONS {smile}. Here you can see my fabulous washi tape holder, but don’t be fooled — there are baskets and jars full of it scattered throughout the room (and house). I also love how I recently organized my buttons in the clear plastic tubes!
I was able to add a little sewing nook where I create lots of banners for my shop and I get to play with some fabulous fabrics! I’m self taught and have so much more to learn. I wish I had a passion for this when I was younger, my grandmother was a fantastic seamstress. My sewing machine was hers before she passed away and I’m sure she smiles every time I take a seat to create my next masterpiece.
See that vintage inspired industrial hardware bin? Swoon! I love using that to organize clothespins, tags and more!
To the right of my sewing station is my walk-in craft closet. Without this closet, I would be LOST. It’s not as organized as it could be, but it’s a blessing!
I honestly don’t know how I’ve accumulated so much ‘stuff,’ but I can’t seem to get rid of any of it because the crafting possibilities are endless!
There’s one more small nook left to show you on this craft room tour — the sitting area. This is rarely used, but I love the gallery wall of inspiration and the pops of color! The chair is so comfy cozy too. Sometimes the hubs or sister will keep me company when I’m crafting the night away.
The dresser (not fully pictured in this craft room tour) is another lifesaver packed full of crafting supplies! And on top of that dresser is a TV that entertains me as I’m gluing, pinning, or sewing the next project together.
And that’s all folks! I hope you enjoyed my craft room tour… and maybe you found a little inspiration along the way! It’s my crafty home and a lot of love has been started and shared as a result of this space.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my craft room tour! Now I’m off to do some crafting….

Oh boy I sure wish you were near me. What a BEAUTIFUL PEACEFUL room. I have been organizing my room but I just can’t seem to get it to my liking. I want something I can walk into and feel inspired. That’s what I feel looking at your room. Kelly keep up the great work!!! Thank you for sharing.
WOW, this craft creating space is stunning and so well organized! Thanks so much for the inspiration! 😀
Oh my, that closet! This is the stuff of my dreams! Thank you for sharing your creative space, Kelly!
That’s such an awesome craft room and that closet, it’s just little smaller than my whole craft room. I have 2 rooms actually, craft room and sewing room full of 2 sewing machines, tables, closet full, iris carts line one whole wall and shelves over it. Sewing room is even smaller than craft room. I have my pc in craft room also with part of a corner desk for all my folders of ideas I keep. Need to go thru those. Figure with winter I’ll make good use of time to clean up alot of my messes, (really hope I do). I’d sure love to have a big room and closet like yours, enjoy it. You’ve inspired me to get busy. Happy week
For the clear drawers in my sewing room I cut scrap book paper so that all the sewing junk isn’t visible. I have thought about making labels for the drawers but haven’t yet. Thank you for all of your great posts!
Of course I love your Craft Room. I am very biased though cuz I’m your Momma. I must say that you have inspired me though to work on mine this year ad do some things I haven’t done in a long time. Great job Kelly!
Wow…what a place for inspiration! Lucky you!
what a great craft room! LOVE! who wouldn’t want a space like that? 🙂
Cute! As I was scrolling down I just kept thinking “Where is all her stuff??” I can barely walk thru my office/craft room because I just haven’t gotten around to organizing it…haha then I saw the closet =) that’s more my style lol love it!
Wow!! I could hang out there all day!
I’m so envious of the closet!!! I store the majority of my crafting stuff in an armoir in our living room. When I’m finished for the day, I just close the doors. But it’s not enough space to keep everything. I’ve got stuff in the laundry room and in our home office. I don’t use the home office much since it’s upstairs and my kids are young and still requiring a lot of supervision…so was easier to just work from the living room and kitchen so I could be close to them.
