Everyone loves a good wedding DIY, don’t they? Weddings can get expensive, so any way that you can cut costs with DIY’s are more than welcome. Especially if it is something simple, fool proof, and looks as good as these pillar candle holders. This colorful DIY candle display is easy to customize to any wedding color palate and looks stunning gracing the centers of your dining tables. Plus, they can be reused on a mantel or spread around your home after the wedding is over.
Supplies needed to make your own colorful DIY candle display:
- Unifinshed Ceramic Candle Holders
- Montana Gold Spray Paint. I used:
- Decocolor Gold Leaf Pen
- Battery Operated Pillar Candles
Begin by taking your ceramic pillar candle holders outside in a well ventillated area and spray painting them solid colors. Then let dry. While you could stop here and have a gorgeous looking table runner, I feel everything is a little better with a touch of gold. To add the gold splatters to your candle holders, simply fling the gold paint pen over the candle holders and let the ink fly out onto them creating a splatter look.
Let dry and then turn the holders over to the other side and reapeat the gold splatter process. Once the gold paint is dry, the candle holders are ready to line your wedding tables. Add a few pillar candles (these battery operated ones are amazing and no need to worry about open flames!), and some greenery around the base of the splattered pillar candle holders and your centerpieces are done!
Gorgeous, simple and just the right amount of gold! I could see these looking amazing in black with gold splatters for a classy wedding, or all in shades of blue for a more earth toned wedding.
Whatever color palate your choose, your colorful DIY candle displays are sure to wow your guests and make them think you spent a lot more decorating for your wedding than you did. And that is always a good thing!
