Easter is quickly approaching and I’m ready to bust out the spring decor now that the weather is warming up. This year I’m sprucing up my front porch and walkway with some handmade decor like this lovely burlap Easter flag!
My inspiration for this burlap Easter flag came from Pottery Barn. Theirs is a large flag with a “Happy Easter” sentiment at the bottom. I kept mine simple with a stenciled bunny and white pompom for the tail. You could also easily add Happy Easter with a stenciled template using your Silhouette or Cricut.
Supplies needed to make your own burlap Easter flag:
- David Tutera Casual Elegance Natural Burlap Sheet
- Silhouette Cameo
- Silhouette Bunny File
- Silhouette Vinyl
- White Acrylic Paint
- Tulip Puffy White Paint
- Foam Brush
- 1.5 inch White Pom Pom
- Hot Glue Gun
- Sewing Machine
To make the flag into a miniature version of Pottery Barn’s, I trimmed my burlap to 13 by 17 inches. I then made a half inch seam on both sides and a one inch seam to the top. The one inch seam will allow you to slide the flag pole through. I like the unraveled burlap look at the bottom, but you could create a seam there as well.
Using my Silhouette cameo and this bunny shape from the silhouette store, I created a stencil out of vinyl. Adhere the stencil to the burlap.
