We recently finished building our new home and although the majority of the house is complete, there is still one or two rooms that I am still putting the finishing touches on. One such room is my 15 year old daughters. She is big into music – she’s won the local school talent show, participated in District Music Festivals, is in school band and chorus and is a member of the school Chamber Singers. Since we’ve themed her room around her love of music, I decided that she could use a piece of art that can sit on the ledge in her room to remind her to always shine. This Shine Bright DIY diamond sign is easy and inexpensive to make and will accent her decor perfectly!
Customize your DIY diamond sign with glitter, paint, fabric – however you want it to sparkle!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY diamond sign:
- 12 x 12 inch Unfinished Wood Panel
- Laser Cut Wood Diamond Sign
- 3-D Foam Dots
- Acrylic Craft Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Measuring Tape
To begin your DIY diamond sign, paint both the wood plaque and the diamond the colors of your choice. I painted the diamond with a matte pink paint and then added a second coat of the same pink in a shimmer. Feel free to add glitter or other embellishments to really make the diamond sparkle!
Once the paint is dry, use foam dots to attach the diamond to the wood plaque. Use a measuring tape to ensure that it is centered and level.
That’s it! Just a few simple steps and you have a gorgeous DIY diamond sign ready to sit on a shelf or hang on a wall!
