While I love LOVE my craft room, I’m finding that I’m struggling – big time – in the organizational department. I’ve got notebooks full of ideas, planners listed with lots of different dates, and kids artwork and projects in progress taped up all over the walls. I’ve finally broken down and began the arduous process of getting everything streamlined. I happened upon some magnet boards at a local store and they screamed for some adorable magnets to match that will help keep all of my dates and projects and ideas posted in a single location. I came up with this canvas art idea and was able to put these watercolor canvas magnets together in no time flat and they add so much character to my craft room!
Supplies needed to make your own watercolor canvas art idea:
- 3 inch Mini Canvas
- Ranger Archival Ink Pad in Jet Black
- Spectrum AQUA Watercolor Markers in Floral
- Clear Acrylic Stamp Blocks
- Paint Brushes
- Aleene’s Quick Dry Tacky Glue
- Round Magnets
- Clear Stamps
- Water
Step One. Using the Ranger Ink Stamp Pad and the stamps of your choice, stamp the image on the mini canvas. This ink is key because it’s waterproof. While it won’t take long, let the ink dry completely before moving on to the next steps.
Step Two. Using the Spectrum AQUA Watercolor Markers, color along the lines of the image, leaving lots of white space.
Step Three. Use the paintbrushes and the water to spread the color around your images until you get your desired outcome. Allow the water to dry completely.
Step Four. Use the tacky glue to adhere a magnet to the back of each of the top corners of the canvas. Let them dry completely before putting them to use.
The possibilities of how cute this canvas art idea can be are endless! I created two coordinating versions and am so happy with how they turned out.
Pair these with a super adorable magnet board and you’ve got an organizational system that’s got some style.
Keep the organizational fun going with these DIY jars with decorative knobs, perfect for storing just about anything!
