Whenever August comes around, I start feeling the oncoming feeling of school and start getting anxious to get everything ready. This year, however, I have already bought all the school supplies and feel like we can relax the rest of the year. I also took the time to prep some at home school supplies and thus my kids pencil boxes got a little face lift. Just some fun inspiring quotes to get them excited for learning :). But I think this DIY pencil box idea is so cool that I’d use them for my pencils.
I also did one for a teacher gift which will go perfect with a gift of sharpies. I think most teachers could use a gift of sharpies every year! The simplicity of these are so easy yet still so fun and cheerful! You really could do just about any quote to go on these boxes.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY pencil box:
First pick your quote then pick your colors. I used Bebas free font for the letters, but any simple box font would work great. Once you decide what you like, figure what order you want to do the colors in. I wanted certain words to stand out, so those were the words that got a rainbow of colors for their letters. Once you’ve figured both those out, measure and cut your letters.
Lastly, using transfer tape, add them to the box and you’re done!! Such a fun way to get into the back to school spirit and with bright colors. I think school can be fun going back, but colors make everything even better. These boxes would make great teacher gifts for the beginning of the year or the end of they year.
You can also customize the inside contents with teacher supplies or favorite teacher treats. Your imagination is the limit!
