With fall already here, and Thanksgiving on the way, we’re gearing up to host Friendsgiving in our new home. I wanted to create something our guests could take home with them and thought of the perfect idea – place card favors! These fun basket favors are easy to make and even more fun to give. Read on to find out how you can make these favor place cards while creating picture-perfect place settings for your fall parties and get-togethers.
Supplies needed to make your own fall place card favors:
- Wood Fall Cutouts
- Wood Berry Baskets
- Jute Twine
- Dowels
- Chalk Marker or White Marker
- Chalkboard Paint
- Scissors
- Paintbrush
- Hot Glue Gun
- Paper Shred
Step 1. Start off by painting the front sides of the fall-themed wood cutouts with black chalkboard paint. After the pieces are dry, flip them over and repeat the same process for the back sides.
Step 2. Next, cut your wooden dowels in half and attach a single dowel to the back of each cutout using hot glue.
Step 3. Using the same chalkboard paint, simply paint the dowels where they attach to the cutout so the sticks blend into the back.
Step 4. Wrap jute twine around each basket about three times, and finish it off by tying it with a bow.
Step 5. Fill your baskets with kraft (or colored) paper shred and small favors – in my case, some chocolate! Cause most people love chocolate, right? After your favors are placed inside, top off the basket with more paper shred.
Step 6. Write your guests names on the front of the cutouts with either a white marker or chalkboard marker.
Step 7. Finally, place the name signs in the middle of each basket and you’re done!
These thoughtful place cards make perfect take home gifts after a night of gathering and can easily be whipped up in less than an hour! What will you be celebrating this fall?
