These no sew book covers are so easy to make! A little fabric glue does the trick with this project but if you are comfortable enough with sewing, you can easily sew these as well. Notebooks or bullet journals can be really useful to have so why not make a cover for it. You can customize it with your favorite fabric or even use scrap book paper. Such a fun way to use fat quarters or fabric scraps. Also you can make it to be uniquely yours; a notebook that can’t be bought at the store. There are so many different fabric options out there!
All you need is a notebook or bullet journal of any size, some fabric that is a little bit bigger than the journal and some fabric glue. If you want to sew yours, then you can do all the same steps with a sewing machine instead of using fabric glue.
Supplies needed to make your own no sew book cover:
Step 1. Cut your fabric.
First lay your book on the fabric and measure your fabric. You want about 3-4 inches extra fabric on each side of the book. For the top and bottom, cut a seam allowance of about an inch on top and bottom (I accidentally cut mine too small, but it still worked out)
Step 2. Glue.
Now starting on the sides and then the tops, fold your fabric in 1/4 of an inch and glue the fabric down. The glue might soak through the fabric, that’s ok but make sure it’s not a surface that it could stick to. Let dry.
Step 3. Finish!
Now fold over your sides over your book. Carefully glue the flaps of the book to the back of the fabric. This part you could also sew the tops if you prefer. (I chose to sew this last step so that I could still remove the book cover if needed) Let dry. And that’s it. Your no sew book cover is done!
There are so many fun options that you could make with these no sew book covers. Happy crafting!
