Summer has many wonderful and magical things, one of them is camping. It’s a time to get dirty and wearing messy buns. With kids, camping has definitely become more tricky and we survive with dark bags under our eyes and kids covered in more dirt than I knew a person could be covered in. Our favorite phrase is “camping is intense” and is perfect for every camping lover and to be worn every day while camping. Because, we all know, laundry goes out the window when camping. This camping shirt DIY using heat transfer vinyl is easy to make and perfect for your summer camping adventures.
Supplies needed to make your own camping shirt DIY:
- Iron On Vinyl Transfer Roll
- Plain T-Shirt
- Electronic Cutting Machine (I use a Silhouette)
- Camping is Intense Files (SVG – PNG – Silhouette Files)
Step 1. First, Before you cut your files, make sure it is a mirror image. Cut it out and weed out the negative vinyl.
Step 2. Next, place your design on the desired spot on the shirt.
Step 3. Lastly, use a piece of fabric as a protector and place on top of the vinyl. On the hottest setting and move the iron around for 40-60 seconds and iron the vinyl onto the shirt. Once it adheres and cools, pull the plastic part off.
And your shirt DIY is done! Your perfect camping shirt! It would make a great gift for a friend who loves camping or maybe make one for the whole family.
Give the gift of a S’mores Kit to get your kids excited for camping, a teacher gift or maybe a neighbor/friend gift.
Or this Summer Journal to record your camping endeavors.
Happy Summer and Happy Camping! Have fun letting the kids get dirty and enjoy the summer days!
