No time for a bath or need a re-energizer in the morning? These DIY shower melts have an energizing mixture of essential oils that is sure to help you perk up in the morning. And these DIY shower melts are so easy to make too – get the recipe and directions below and see how!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY shower melts:
- Silicone Baking Mold (I used this flat mold)
- Baking Soda
- Measuring Cup
- Mixing Bowl
- 1/2 Cup Water (add more if needed)
- Lemon Essential Oil – 20 Drops
- Bergamot Essential Oil – 20 Drops
- Sweet Orange Essential Oil – 20 Drops
- Dropper
Step 1. Combine all the liquids – the 1/2 cup water and 20 drops each of the essential oils.
Step 2. Mix the wet ingredients and the dry ingredients. The consistency should lightly stick together. If it’s too wet, add more baking soda and if it’s too dry, add a bit more water.
Step 3. Transfer the mixture into your mold of choice and pack it down. Wait 24 hours until it dries, or dry it in the oven for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
And you are done! Store the dried DIY shower melts in a sealed jar – when properly stored, it should last a month before it loses the fragrance of the essential oils. But no worries, just add a few drops of essential oil before use if it has lost its potency.
To use, just place it on the corner of the tub floor, where water hits it the least. The steam and the water will release the scent of the oils in the air. Have fun making these and feel free to be creative in the essential oils that you add to them!

It doesn’t say how much baking soda to use… I bought everything to make this and just noticed that…. Please let me know. Thanks!
Sorry about that! It’s 1 1/2 cups baking soda, add more if it’s still too wet and doesn’t pack well. If it’s too dry, add a bit more water until you get the correct consistency. 🙂
