I am sure you have heard the term “DIY” as an acronym for (Do It Yourself). Today I want to introduce you to the term “DDIY,” (DON’T Do It Yourself). My favorite kind of craft! There are so many adorable DDIY’s on the market now, items that are already done- but require a little assembly, and then you get to take the credit for a thoughtful home made gift! Like these adorable DIY owl (or should I say DDIY owl) fridge magnets!
Check out the other options for felt characters here: Darice Felties Stickers.
I knew the DIY owl magnets would be a perfect and super easy gift to throw together for my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day. I added them to a small tin box- it made the presentation perfect with the magnet backing on the owls.

The felt owls came in a ten pack. I made magnets out of six of them (that was the amount of magnets in the package) and I used the remaining owls for the outside of the tin, and a coordinating gift card.
To begin, select the owls you want to use for magnets. They are surprisingly detailed. (Seriously, why would you “Do It Yourself” with options like this?)
Leave the sticker backing on the owl and adhere a magnet to the back of each. I recommend using hot glue for this project. I also recommend using super heavy duty magnets. I use heavy duty magnets on all of my fridge magnet projects. Less expensive magnets will not hold anything on the fridge, but the magnet itself. Even a light piece of paper will slide down the fridge with regular strength magnets. Nothing more frustrating than non-functioning magnets!
I added a quick computer generated tag to the tin. “Owl Always Love You.” Another option ” Who-o-o Loves You.” There are so many cute Feltie stickers- you could really get creative with different sayings for the variety of characters.
