I grew up in a family of readers and book lovers. We used to spend the whole month of December at Barnes and Noble just looking at books for ourselves and for others. Now, it’s the library that we spend our time at and with 3 littles who love books, we bring home lots of books. Basically we need one bag for each child. Thus, fun book bags make going to the library even more fun. This new DIY library bag is now one of my favorites. You can make one of your own bags, or you can download the printable below to hang in your house.
I have many favorite book quotes and this one is up there with my favorites. It’s from Harry Potter said by the character Dumbledore. He always had the best quotes, and this one is no exemption. They say if you want your kids to read, you should surround them with books. So why not start with this awesome bag!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY library bag:
- Cotton Tote Bag
- Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Cutting Machine
- Words Are Magic Printable – SVG, PNG and Silhouette Files
First, make sure you flip the image so when you read the words in your cutting machine software it should read backwards to you. Next cut out the quote on the vinyl. You could also print out on printable vinyl.
Next place on bag. (please note, the picture above is with the wrong spelling, but I re-cut the vinyl and the files above are with the correct spelling). Next iron onto bag. That’s it – your DIY library bag is done!
If you have a Harry Potter fan, book lover or writer in your life, this would be the perfect DIY library bag to make for them. It’s also a great project if you are new to using a cutting machine or to using heat transfer vinyl.
