Graduation season is just around the corner and soon you’ll be wracking your brain for gifts you can give the new graduate. I love making handmade gifts for most occasions but this is one of those moments when the recipient would probably appreciate money or gift cards over any gift I could make. Of course, that doesn’t mean I can’t give the money in a cute, handmade DIY graduation gift box, right?
Supplies needed to make your own DIY graduation gift box:
- Unfinished Wood Craft Box with Lid.
- Tie Tack Post/Clutch-Brass Plated.
- Cotton Embroidery Floss.
- Black Americana Decor Chalky Paint.
Step One. Apply a couple layers of paint over the entire outside of the unfinished box. Allow to dry completely.
All that’s left to do is fill the DIY graduation gift box with a present of your choosing and give to the lucky graduate! I filled my box with $50 in quarters but you could also do dollar bills taped to each other or even a gift card inside of tissue paper.
I love that you can totally customize the box to match the graduate’s school colors and even add a personal message to the outside. Hope you find this tutorial useful when trying to figure out what to give a new graduate. I’m sure they’ll appreciate the sentiment!
