I’ve got an adorable craft project for you today. These DIY fairy flower clothespins are one of the most fun crafts I’ve ever made. There is so much room for creativity! I’ll show you the basic technique for making a fairy and some different ways to customize your fairies, but ultimately anything goes for this cute, whimsical project.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY Fairy Clothespins:
- Wood Doll Clothespins
- Wood Doll Pin Stands
- Faux Gerbera Daisy Stems
- Faux Hydrangea Stems
- Satin Rose Petals
- Mini Rose Leaves
- Printed Fabric or Washi Tape
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
You’ll begin making your DIY fairy friends by removing the centers and stems from the flower petals.
Enlarge the hole in the center of the flower by making small snips with a sharp pair of scissors.
Slip the flower petals over the clothespin and secure with hot glue. Add the doll pin stand to the bottom of the clothespin so the doll can stay upright.
Add a “bodice” by wrapping fabric tape around the clothespin just above the flower petals.
Use hot glue to attach rose petal wings to the back of the fairy.
Add a hat to your DIY fairy using a hydrangea blossom or small flower petals.
Use a permanent marker to add eyes, if desired. I also kissed their cheeks with a bit of pink chalk “blush.”
I really enjoyed watching each flower fairy’s personality come alive as I added unique touches to each one. Let your imagination run wild and have fun with this craft. The possibilities are endless!
Here are close up shots of each DIY fairy I made. Each one is different and special!

They are all so adorable! My favorite though is the one with the white & blue dress. Reminds me of a princess fairy.
