Out of 4 kids, I have one girl. She is in the middle so she is a whole new experience of creative making for me. I do love making things for my boys, but my little girl has always needed clips in her hair to keep hair out of her face. So we have lots of clips around the house. Bows are definitely a favorite and a crochet bow is a fun twist on the traditional bow and is very quick and easy to make. Do you like quick and easy projects? Crocheting is a relaxing hobby for me, but it can take a long time. So it’s nice sometimes do a quick crochet project that is fun.
Step 1. First decide how big you want your bows. I made some in various sizes. For the blue I chained 12. After chaining 12, go back and do single crochet stitch
Step 2. Now when you go back again, you are going to do single crochet in the back loop only. This will add texture to the bow. Do this for 12 rows.
Step 3. Now finish it off by doing single crochet around the whole bow. This will give a it polished look. Then tie some thread around the middle of the bow and pull tight and start wrapping the thread around.
Step 4. After wrapping for a bit, tie it off and you’re done.
Step 5. Last thing to do is slip in a hair clip onto the back. Also clip any long threads.
That’s it! You could even make larger bows to add to next ties for boys.
There are so many fun things you could use these crochet bows for. Maybe even a necklace or on a dress or purse. There are also so many various colors of yarn that you could make many different colors.
