Having two boys first, I didn’t have much in the way of accessories for them. They have a few bow ties and ties that they occasionally wear to church on Sunday, but that’s about it. But, then we had a little girl and as she got older she took on being a girl in every way possible. She loves all colors, but pink and purple are her favorite and she loves necklaces and bows. You can see the DIY wood necklace holder HERE that I made for her. Well, her bows have been getting out of hand so I decided to make a quick and easy DIY bow holder.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY bow holder:
First stain or paint your wood dowel in your desired color and paint your wood beads.
Next you’re going to cut each of your cords in half. I ended up using three of the craft cords. Then fold your cords in half and loop it onto your wood dowel.
Then tie a tight knot at the top by the wood dowel. Now we’re going to go down 4 or 5 inches and take a string from one of the cord sets and the first cord of the next set and tie them together into a knot. Do that to the rest of the cords. You may need to adjust the knots to make them all the same length. We’re doing a very simple macrame.
After you get them all sorted, add beads if you like (like these beads here). Then divide the strings again like previously and then tie more knots. Then go down a 3 to 4 inches and divide and tie more knot
Finally add some bows and hang on the wall. And you’re done!
