There are two things I’m absolutely crazy about right now, fairy gardens and anything related to the beach. I decided to mix the two of them into one awesome DIY beach fairy garden tutorial that’s fun for an adult to make but easy enough for kids as well!
Supplies needed to make your own DIY beach fairy garden:
- Mini White Picket Fence
- Decorative Tan Colored Sand
- Beach Themed Miniatures of your choice. I used:
- 4 inch Paper Drink Umbrellas
- Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
- Felt Sheet
- Shallow Recycled Container
- Aqua Paint
- Various Succulents & Succulent Potting Soil or Artificial Succulents
- Small Metal Pail
Step One. Fill metal pail with soil and add succulents to the back. Trim the wood fence to fit inside the container and place it in front of succulents.
Step Two. Paint a small recycled shallow dish with the aqua paint and fill with Dimensional Magic. Allow to dry completely while you assemble the rest of the fairy garden.
Step Three. Fill “beach” section of garden with sand. Make sure to add enough that the dirt doesn’t show from underneath.
Step Four. Once the “water” had dried completely, trim to fit within your desired space.
Step Five. To create a beach towel, cut a small rectangle from felt. Add some fringe on the ends, and place on the DIY beach. Add the rest of the miniature accessories until you’re happy with the look!
Now I’ve got an adorable little DIY beach fairy garden to keep me company when I’m stuck at my desk working during the summer! There are so many ways to customize this and make your beach scene all your own. Consumer Crafts has tons of miniatures that would be absolutely perfect.
Hope you have fun making your very own DIY beach fairy garden!

I love this idea ! I’ve never seen a “fairy garden” with a beach !
I did one in a fish bowl, not necessarily a fairy thing, but ocean theme. I put a chair, umbrella and palm tree. Then I did blue sand and white sand, there is flip-flops by the chair, turtle, snorkeling and a shell, then a dolphin in the water. I actually had all that on hand because I decorate with ocean them although I have only been to the beach never lived by it, and I live in MT. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/166562886196825451/ You can see what I have in mine. I did a fish bowl, my son gave me Christmas money so I got the fish bowl at Michael’s 1/2 off.
I saw your fishbowl it was beautiful!!!
