If you ever visit me over at Suburble, you’ll know that we’re big campers. We love to get away for the weekend – “roughing in” – while the kids ride their bikes and become dirt magnets.
This love of camping inspired us to create a little camping fairy garden. Even though Fairies love their homes, I’m sure that they appreciate a getaway every now and again. Follow along as I share some fun campsite fairy garden ideas with you!
Campsite fairy garden ideas supplies:
- Four Dowel Rods.
- Elastic/Elastic Thread.
- Piece of Fabric (mine was 10 x 10″).
- Faux Succulents.
- Rocks & Pot filled with Dirt.
- Fairy Figurines.
- Miniature Charcoal Grill.
- Miniature Enamelware Pots and Pans.
- Miniature Fishing Pole.
- Miniature Washing-up Tub.
- An Imagination!
I started by creating the little fairy-tent. To do this, I grabbed the four dowels and grouped them together with an elastic. You will notice that I just grabbed a hair elastic at this time, because I was brainstorming. I soon realized that this just wouldn’t do. It gets swapped out for gold elastic thread pretty quickly.
I set the structure upright and spread the dowels apart to make a little A-frame. Then I draped it in fabric, which was slipped under the elastic!
You can glue the front of the tent flaps to the dowel if you want (or if the fairy campsite is going to be near a draft), or you can leave them be.
I had my little helpers set the stage for the campsite. We used rocks and faux succulents for the background. I am in LOVE with these fake succulents. I’ll be ordering more very soon. They look great, and I have so many places to use them!
From there, we set the stage with our fairy garden ideas. We grabbed our fairy sisters and their camping gear, and got to imagining.
We figured that the lilac fairy would be handy with the grill. She seemed pretty confident.
The green fairy was so enamored with the enamelware (because it is SO cute, you can’t help buy play with it), that she just watched while dinner was made.
These fairy campers have quite the set up.
And I should say, two sisters who live in this house have been known to sneak out and play “fairy camping” with this little set up.
I hope you enjoyed these campsite fairy garden ideas – it’s been a great way to stretch out our imaginations!
