It’s May the Fourth today and fans around the world are celebrating the cultural phenomenon that is Star Wars! These DIY lightsaber skewers are great if you’re planning a little get-together with some of your favorite geeks. Whether you add fruit or veggies, dip in fondue or chocolate, these skewers are easy to make and sure to be a crowd favorite. You can either make these ahead of time or provide all the materials and allow guests to design their own!
- 10 inch Bamboo Skewers
- Black Foamies 9 x 12 Sticky Back Sheet
- Red Foamies 9 x 12 Sticky Back Sheet
- Silver Duck Tape
- Food for Skewers
- Candy Melter and Fondue Pot & Melting Chocolate (optional)
Step Three. Wrap entire lightsaber handle with two strips of duct tape. I used a super shiny chrome variety of duct tape but you could also just use standard duct tape or any other silver tape you have around (foil tape, washi tape, etc).
As I mentioned above, you can either add fruit or veggies to these DIY lightsaber skewers and either serve them plain or allow guests to dip in fondue or chocolate. I have the Chocomaker Candy Melter and Fondue Pot that melts dark chocolate wafers and keeps them at the perfect party temperature.
