Once upon a time I wanted to be a wedding planner, but now I have resigned myself to coming up with pretty DIY’s that any Bride can do. These DIY mini succulent wedding place cards are a simple yet elegant addition to your wedding table setting. And since this succulent project uses realistic looking faux succulents, they can be assembled months ahead so that there is no last minute panic induced craft session!
Begin by creating the name cards. To do this, cut your papers to size and glue together. Then either hand letter yourself or hire a calligrapher to put everyone’s name on the kraft paper using the gold paint pen. Luckily my assistant is an amazing wedding calligrapher!
Next comes the mini succulent bouquets. To begin lay out all your succulents and separate any large greenery into individual stems.
Place small succulents together with a stem of greenery then wrap the gold wire around the stems to completely cover them. I loved the layered looking mini succulent bouquets, but you can also make a few with just one large succulent too.
Now you can either hot glue the stems onto the place card, or simply place them together on the place setting for each guest.
These DIY mini succulent wedding place cards would look great in a botanical wedding or any spring wedding since they bring in that natural greenery that is so fresh for spring. This succulent project can also double as boutonnieres for the groomsmen too! And if the idea of making these for all the guests has you worried, you can also just make them for the bridal party and family tables. And then go with a simple plain succulent for the rest of the guests.
