As a craft blogger, I think Thanksgiving tends to be overlooked between Halloween and Christmas crafts. I know I personally spend a lot of time making fun Halloween projects with the kids then jump right into Christmas decor and gift ideas. Sometime I need to tell myself to slow down and enjoy the calm November weeks before the holiday hustle and bustle. While I may already have holiday ideas in the works I do want to create a Thanksgiving tablescape and place card settings with handmade decor. Last year I decorated pumpkins with gold metallic paint and gold glitter accents. I loved it so much I plan to do it again this year.
To get an early start on my tablescape, I made these gold glitter pinecone place card settings. Do you remember glittering pinecones as a child? I still do it every year and not only for Christmas. It’s a great way to bring nature inside and glam up the table with a pretty handmade touch.
Supplies needed to make your own pinecone place card settings:
Step one. Brush Mod Podge along the tips while holding the pinecone upside down. Pour glitter over the glue then set aside. Once the glue has dried, gently shake any excess glitter off.
Step two. Use a die cutting machine to create small leaves out of kraft paper. If you do not have a die cutting machine, you can easily print out a leaf template and hand cut a leaf shape.
Use the paper leaves to write names for everyone joining your Thanksgiving festivities. You can place the leaf between the tips of the pinecone or carefully glue it down.
These pinecone place card settings are a simple, festive craft that can be made in less than 10 minutes. They’re a great way to let guest know where to find their seat on Thanksgiving.
I hope you enjoyed this pinecone place card setting idea! Are you crafting for Thanksgiving?

These are the cutest! I agree that Thanksgiving often tends to be the “meh” between the two holidays. But food! We already have plotted out that whole four day weekend with various visitors, so keep the ideas coming — I’m going to need all the help I can get.
