I’ve got a fun and easy graduation gift idea to share today. What graduate wouldn’t love to take a cute Instax camera off to college with them? Think of all the fun memories they will be able to capture with roommates and all of those late night cram sessions. I found a really cute quote and created a card to go with the gift and gift bag DIY.
“Life is like a camera…
Focus on what’s important,
Capture the good times,
Develop from the negatives,
And if things don’t work out, just take another shot.”
How cute is that? And such great advice for high school seniors making their way out into the big world. Want to make this cute grad gift with me?
Supplies needed to make your own grad gift & gift bag DIY:
- Instax Mini & Film
- Colorful Tissue Paper
- White Gift Bags
- White Cards + Envelopes
- Pink Cardstock
- Printable Quote (Download HERE)
- Camera Graphic for Cut File (Download HERE)
Begin by printing the quote onto the front of a card. Alternately, you could cut the saying out of vinyl using your Silhouette, but there would be a lot of weeding to do, so I opted to print the words.
Next, download the camera graphic and open the png file in Silhouette Design Studio. Use the trace feature to add cut lines to the shape. The camera graphic for the card should be no larger than two inches across. The other cameras are to decorate the gift bag.
Adjust the Silhouette cut settings for cardstock, place the cardstock on the cutting mat, then cut the files.
Carefully peel the cameras from the cutting mat. They have a few delicate areas, so go slow!
Glue the camera to the card and voila! A cute, useful and sweet gift perfect for a high school graduate.
Another fun way to decorate a plain gift bag is to add vinyl. I used THIS vinyl and cut out the words, “Congrats Graduate!” on my Silhouette, then used transfer tape to add it to the gift bag DIY.
