Happy Summer! This is the season of entertaining and today I am sharing these pretty pine leaf and burlap DIY place settings that would be lovely for any gathering.
We are planning to host a garden party and we wanted to elevate it from a backyard barbecue with paper plates to something a little more formal. When we bought our new home last year, we knew we wanted to entertain and throw a party in the summer. While our goal was to make the event nice, we also wanted to keep things simple, opting for decorative DIY place settings. Not only can you put these together in a few minutes, but you get a high end look while staying on budget!
Supplies needed to make your own rustic DIY place settings:
- Artificial Pine Leaf Picks
- Drawstring Burlap Bags
- Suede Cording
- Scissors
- Flower Chalkboard Tags
- Chalk Pen
- Plates
- Charger
- Napkins
Step 1. First, gather the pine leaf picks and burlap bags. You’ll place one pine stem in each burlap bag and pull tightly. (You may want to hot glue them in for added support.)
Step 2. You’ll write on your chalkboard tags using the chalk markers. This is a great time to get creative. While we penned a simple “welcome,” you can write out each person’s name or a personal note or message for each guest. Let the tag set for a few seconds so it doesn’t smudge.
Step 3. Now it’s time to assemble. Simply cut a section of suede cording and thread through the chalkboard tag. Tie the tag onto the center of the pine and burlap bag.
Gently set on top of your plates and you have gorgeous DIY place settings. If you have fresh flowers you may also want to add a fresh flower to your pine leaf for an added touch.
This is such a fun way to decorate for a party, wedding, or any dinner event. Plus, it makes your guests feel extra special!
