Have you all enjoyed the Plastic Canvas Challenge here at Crafts Unleashed this month? All the designers have had a great time working in the same craft medium! Today, I’ll show you how to make some great DIY party favor boxes made from plastic canvas for your child’s birthday party. I could also see these lined up in their room for some art supply organization. Grab your plastic canvas and lets get started!
Supplies needed to make your own plastic canvas DIY party favor boxes:
- Colored Plastic Canvas – 1 sheet per box
- Plastic Canvas Yarn
- Plastic Canvas Needle
- Felties Felt Stickers
- Floral Wire
- Plastic Canvas Favor Box Pattern
Cut the shapes from your plastic canvas according to the pattern.
Using the bottom and four side pieces, stitch the yarn all the way around the bottom, so all 4 sides meet.
Fold the sides up one by one, and stitch where the sides meet. Add the top pieces by stitching across where they meet – just one side.
Use pliers to add a piece of floral wire as a handle. Cut the handle to the desired length once bent. Add your felties sticker to the front of your DIY party favor box.
Fill your plastic canvas DIY party favor boxes with candy, toys, or anything else you want to give your guests. Customize these great boxes to your party’s theme, or make a series of these to organize your child’s room…or even a craft space!
Add this fun plastic canvas project to your to do list today. My plastic canvas DIY party favor boxes are sure to be a hit in your home.

Hi! This is so cute! How do I get the actual patterns? Thank you!
Hi Janet, there is a link to the patterns in the supply list at the beginning of this post.
Cute, cute!
I can think of a ton of great uses for these boxes! Great job, Angie!
I can see this cute plastic canvas box with a handle to look like a Chinese takeout box, too. Very cute idea which can be different sizes to fit for purpose. A tab closure would make it even more authentic. Leave off the closure panels and use it for a desktop small-stuff trash or organizer for lightweight things. Luv, luv, luv Creafts Unleashed.
Okay, these boxes are adorable!! Way to go Angie! 🙂
